Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by nine wickets in the 51st match of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) played at the Dubai International Stadium here on Saturday. After losing the toss and batting first, the Delhi team could only manage 110 runs for nine wickets, which Mumbai got by losing one wicket in 14.2 overs.
Ishan Kishan scored the most unbeaten 72 and Quinton de Kock 26 for Mumbai with the help of eight fours and three sixes from 47 balls. Suryakumar Yadav contributed 12 unbeaten runs with the help of a four off 11 balls.
Anrich Nortje was the only success for Delhi Capitals. This is Delhi’s fourth consecutive defeat. Now there is one match left in his account and he has to win that match to reach the playoffs.
Delhi stumbles on falling wickets soon
No batsman could show amazing from Delhi’s side. Due to early setbacks, the team faltered and the wickets kept falling. The team scored 110 runs, losing 9 wickets. Captain Iyer scored the highest 25 runs. Apart from him, Shikhar Dhawan once again flopped and was out at zero. Prithvi Shaw scored 10, Rishabh Pant 21, Hetmyer 11 and Ashwin and Rabada scored 12 runs.
For Mumbai, Jaspreet Bumrah and Trent Boult took three each, Nathan Coulter Nile and Rahul Chahar took one wicket each.
