A recent escape of news, coming from Sonny Dickson, historically reliable source in the field of advances on Apple products, has revealed a series of preliminary models (DUMMY) of the waiting line iPhone 17. The Dummy, not working, are typically used by the manufacturers of cane and accessories to prepare the production in view of the official launch. The leaked images largely confirm the renderings circulated in recent weeks, highlighting in particular the distinctive camera bar which, according to rumors, will be extended to almost all the width of the device, with the exception of the basic iPhone 17 model.
The photographs, which show the models from different angles, underline the significant difference of thickness between the alleged iPhone 17 Air and the other models of the series. Mark Germans by Bloomberg, in his “Power on” newsletter, confirms the diagonal of the 6.6 -inch screen, adding that Apple had initially evaluated a 6.9 -inch version, then discarded for fears related to the structural resistance of such a subtle device with a screen of such dimensions. Busty also indicates the presence of reduced frames, similar to those of the Pro models, the dynamic island (Dynamic Island) and the camera control button, elements all visible in Dickson’s images.
Further details that emerged suggest that the iPhone 17 Air can have a thickness of only 5.5 mm and a single rear camera. The “subtle” approach could also be extended to other models. The technologies and production processes developed for the iPhone 17 Air, according to Gurman, represent a step forward in the preparation of Apple at the launch of its first folding device, scheduled for 2026. This device should resemble the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, but with a less visible fold.
