The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS) nominated this Tuesday (26) the names for the 51st edition of the International Emmy Awards, considered the “Oscar of world television”.
In Brazil, there were seven nominees. The highlights were the remake of “Pantanal” (2022) and “Cara e Coragem” (2022), nominated in the best soap opera category.
Furthermore, Record got its second nomination in history with the dramatic documentary series Linchamentos, produced in 2022 and made available on its streaming platform Playplus. In total, four other nominations took place.
Warner, like Globo, had two nominations, but in different categories. The first was in the documentary series category with Dossier Chapecó, which investigates the causes of the accident with the Chapecoense plane in 2016, which killed 71 people including club members, players and journalists who were going to cover the final of the Copa Sudamericana of that year. year.
The second was with the first season of the reality show A Ponte – The Brigde Brasil. Led by Murilo Rosa, the show brought together 14 famous and anonymous people who were supposed to come together to build a bridge in search of a prize of R$100,000.
The winner could choose whether he would keep the amount or divide it among everyone. Actress Suyane Moreira, who won the program, preferred to keep the amount alone.
Finally, two children’s programs were nominated. The first was Quintal TV, produced by Canal Futura, from Globo. The second was a new version of “Menino Maluquinho”, in a cartoon, made by the production company Chatrone.
At Globo, the nomination for “Pantanal” was already expected due to the soap opera’s international sales, which are a success. His success in Brazil was also an important factor. “Face and Courage” was seen as a surprise.
The winners of the International Emmy will be announced at a gala scheduled to take place on November 20th, in New York, United States.
