Infosys has won a $1.6 billion contract from Liberty Global, an international telecommunication company. Infosys shares rally on reports The stock was trading at Rs 1,414.70 by 11.15 am. The contract was awarded to Liberty Global to build the company’s entertainment connectivity platforms.
Infosys Chief Executive Officer Salil Parekh said AI will be used to leverage cloud-based digital services for Liberty Global.
The duration of the contract is five years. It can be extended for eight years. The value of the contract extension deals will touch $2.5 billion. The deal is expected to help Liberty Global generate more than €100 million a year, including new investments in technology.
Liberty Global will license to Infosys all platforms developed and manufactured under RAR, including state-of-the-art AI technologies. The advantage is that the company can offer similar services to new operators and new markets.
