India vs West Indies: Before the T20 series, two legends met at the Eden Gardens, BCCI shared the picture

Kolkata: Board of Control for Cricket in India President Sourav Ganguly met Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Ahead of the first T20 International series between India and West Indies, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has shared a picture of Ganguly interacting with Dravid on its Twitter account. The Board of Control for Cricket has shared a caption with it.

The board wrote, ‘When two great players of Indian cricket met at the Eden Gardens.’

However, this meeting between these two was quite different. There was social distancing between the two and both were also wearing masks.

Dravid took charge of the Indian men’s cricket team after Ravi Shastri. Ravi Shastri’s tenure ended after the T20 World Cup last year.

India defeated West Indies 3-0 in the three-match series. India will try to continue this journey. All three matches of the T20 series will be played in Kolkata.

Dravid and Ganguly have a special connection with the Eden Gardens. This is Ganguly’s home ground. At the same time, Rahul Dravid was part of the team that defeated the great team of Australia in 2001 at this ground. Dravid made a wonderful partnership with VVS Laxman in the second innings of that match. Dravid had scored 180 runs in that innings. Laxman had scored 281 runs. There was a partnership of 376 runs between the two. India won this match by 171 runs.

Dravid and Ganguly made their debut in the same test match. Both made their debut against England at Lord’s. Ganguly scored a century in that match and Rahul Dravid scored 95 runs.
