Team India to defend England on the third day of the second Test. India will be looking to line up the English batting line-up with the help of pacers. England, who started the first innings on the second day, have lost three wickets. Dominic Sibley and Haseeb Hameed were bowled by Mohammad Siraj in the next over.

As in the first Test, England came out on top with captain Joe Root in the lead. Root made a great partnership with Rory Burns for the third wicket. Eventually Burns was knocked out by Mohammed Shami in the LBW. Burns was out for a run at half-time. Burns scored 49 off 136 balls.

Root completed his half-century early on the third day. Earlier, India had scored 364 in the first innings. KL Rahul (century) and Rohit Sharma (half century) led India to the top score.
