- Imran Khan government’s plans failed on the pretext of Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s death
- Pakistan wanted Geelani’s body to be buried with full crowd so that people could gather
- Pakistan’s intention was to take advantage of this opportunity to incite people against India.
Pakistan is enraged by the failure of the Imran Khan government, which is dreaming of inciting violence in Jammu and Kashmir again on the pretext of the death of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. In fact, Pakistan wanted Geelani’s body to be buried with the entire crowd so that people would gather there and incite feelings against India. However, India did not allow this to happen. Only family and close people were allowed to attend Geelani’s last visit.
Geelani, a pro-Pakistan separatist leader from Jammu and Kashmir, was handed over in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday amid tight security. Geelani was buried in a mosque near his house. However, his son Naeem told that he wanted to be buried in the cemetery in Srinagar which is called the ‘graveyard of martyrs’. Many separatist leaders are buried here, but the administration did not allow to do so. Geelani (91) died on Wednesday night at his residence in Haiderpura on the outskirts of Srinagar after a prolonged illness.
Imran Khan government furious over Geelani’s burial
Geelani’s family was asked to hand over them in the night itself as a precautionary measure. According to intelligence inputs, there were apprehensions that some anti-national elements may use this opportunity to disturb the law and order situation in the Kashmir Valley. Meanwhile, the Imran Khan government of Pakistan has become furious over Geelani’s burial in this way. Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf even warned India.
At the same time, the Pakistan Foreign Ministry has called it a ‘barbaric act’. Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Asim Iftikhar claimed that Gilani’s body was snatched by Indian security forces. Asim alleged that India did not bury Geelani in the cemetery of the martyrs according to his mind. The family is being harassed. The Pakistani spokesperson said that the Indian government was scared of Gilani. He said that after Geelani’s body was buried, curfew was imposed and internet was switched off. He called for the intervention of the international community.
