The Income Tax department is going to launch the e-filing portal on 7th June for the purpose of making the tax filing process easier for the taxpayer. In this new website, many new features have been added in the process of filing income tax returns.
An official statement issued by the Ministry of Finance said that- Income Tax Department is launching a new e-filing portal on 7th June – www.incometax.gov.in. This will give more convenience and a modern experience to the taxpayers.
Know 10 big things about this portal of Income Tax Department-
- From June 7, the new e-filing link – www.incometax.gov.in – will replace the existing hyperlink existing “http://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in”.
- The new income tax e-filing portal works on instant processing of income tax returns to generate faster refunds of taxpayers.
- The taxpayer’s follow-up action, all interactions and all upload actions will be displayed on a single dashboard.
- ITR preparation software will be completely free, with interactive questions will also be there.
- Free ITR preparation software will be available for taxpayers for ITRs 1, 4 (online, offline) and ITR 2 (offline).
- Software for preparation of ITRs 3, 5, 6, 7 will be made available soon.
- Taxpayers will be able to update their profile in a proactive manner. For this, they will have to mention their salary, house property, business or occupation, which can be used in the prefiling of ITR.
- With the new portal, taxpayers will get a special facility that will make their experience special. The Income Tax Department has started the call center facility with the new portal, so that the queries of taxpayers can be answered.
- The mobile app related to e-filing will be launched on June 18.
- Pre-filing with TDS and SFT statements, salary income, interest, dividend and capital gains will be available till June 30, 2021.
