On December 17, the World Volleyball Federation (FIVB) conducted a draw to divide the group for the 2025 World Women’s Volleyball Championship, a tournament in which the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team participated for the first time.

The 2025 Women’s Volleyball World Championship attracts 32 participating teams, divided into 8 groups (each group has 8 teams). Teams compete in a round robin to select the first and second place teams from each group to advance to the quarterfinals. The Vietnamese women’s volleyball team won tickets to participate thanks to its 4th place finish in the Asian championship.
According to FIVB’s drawing principles, host Thailand is seeded No. 1 and is in Group A. The remaining 7 seeds are determined based on the world rankings: Italy (ranked 1 in the world), Brazil (ranked 1 in the world), and Brazil (ranked 1 in the world). 2nd place), USA (3rd place), Turkey (4th place), China (5th place), Poland (6th place), Japan (7th place).
