Tata Motors It was the first vehicle manufacturer in India to offer two gas cylinder tanks In spite of two tanks, the company’s car has enough boot space to keep luggage. Now Hyundai has also joined this queue. The South Korean car manufacturer has added two CNG cylinders to its smallest SUV – Exter. With this, Hyundai Exter has become the first such car of the company equipped with two gas cylinders.
The car manufacturer has launched this car at a price of Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new CNG variant is about Rs 7,000 more expensive than the existing Exter CNG. The company will continue to sell the double (Hyundai Exter CNG Duo) and single gas cylinder models of Hyundai Exter included in its CNG lineup. This means that customers can now buy either one or both of the Exter CNG Duo and Exter CNG single cylinder as per their choice.

Hyundai EXTER CNG: Hyundai Exter equipped with these features
Hyundai has named the Exter equipped with two gas cylinders as Exter Hy-CNG Duo. Like Tata Altroz, the total capacity of both the cylinders provided in Exter is 60 liters. That is, the capacity of one cylinder is 30 liters. The company has taken special care in fitting both the gas cylinders in the car. Apart from the double CNG tank, Hyundai Exter CNG Duo is also equipped with an integrated electronic control unit (ECU). With the help of this unit, switching between petrol and CNG mode can be done very easily.
Hyundai EXTER CNG: Engine Specs
Like the regular model, the Exter CNG Duo has a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine. This engine is capable of generating 68 bhp of power and 95.2 Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual transmission option. Features like voice-assisted electric sunroof, LED DRL and LED tail lamp, automatic climate control, 8-inch infotainment system have been provided in Exter. For safety, it has many features like 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist control (HAC).
Hyundai EXTER CNG: Price
Hyundai’s Exter CNG Duo is available in three options – S, SX and Exter Knight SX. The Exter equipped with double gas cylinder is priced at Rs 8.53 lakh.
