The victim first approached the court seeking permission to marry the priest accused in the case. Later, the accused Robin Vadakkuncheri also appeared before the court and filed a bail application. The words of the senior priest are that the court is going to consider the case today.
“This is a very unusual case. A normal case does not happen like this. The victim himself came to the Supreme Court with the case. I am not saying that what was done was wrong or that they should not be punished. But there is some possibility beyond wrong. Fr. Paul Thelakattu told TV Reporter. Fr. Thelakatt said. “This is a sign that human life is possible beyond the law,” he added.
The priest said that the court accepted the case on file considering the importance of the petition. “There is a life outside the realm of law. There is life not only in crime and punishment, but in life beyond that. Those things also need to be considered by the courts.” The priest said.
The priest was convicted of raping a minor girl and making her pregnant. The attempt to take the girl to a secret center for delivery and transfer the child to an orphanage was a big controversy. After his execution, the church removed his priesthood. Meanwhile, it is reported that the Kerala government will oppose the petitions of the victim and the accused in the Supreme Court today.
