4,41,600 tickets were sold in the state only on July 27 when the Thiruvonam bumper sale started. This is the first time in the history of the lottery department that such a huge sale has taken place on the first day. As sales increase, more tickets are likely to be released. The lottery department can release a maximum of 90 lakh tickets.
The increase in sales came after Thiruvonam’s bumper amount was increased from 15 crores to 25 crores. 25 crores has been fixed as the first prize since last year. Last year, 66,55,914 tickets were sold while 67,50,000 tickets were printed.

20 people will get the first prize of Rs 25 crore and the second prize of Rs 20 crore each. The third prize is 50 lakhs each for 20 people.
The agent will get 10 percent of the Onam bumper Rs 25 crore as commission. 30 percent of the amount should be paid as tax. The amount after this will be awarded to the bumper winner. This time the commission amount was also increased. The draw will be held on September 20.
