The Thai team was divided into 2 groups to go to Vietnam
On the evening of December 30, it took the Thai team 120 minutes to overcome the Philippines with a total score of 4-3, thereby winning the right to enter the AFF Cup 2024 final to meet the Vietnamese team. On the afternoon of December 31, coach Masatada Ishii and his team divided into two groups when flying to Noi Bai. Flight number TG264 is expected to land at 7:20 p.m. and flight number VN618 is expected to land at 8:55 p.m. After that, the Thai players will move to Phu Tho.
Thus, the Thai team only had one practice session at Viet Tri Stadium on the afternoon of December 1. They will have to spend the remaining time resting and recovering. This is the first time “War Elephants” played at Viet Tri Stadium in the AFF Cup 2024. In the group stage, they played in Vietnam because the Timor Leste team chose Hang Day Stadium as their home field.
After the hard-fought victory against the Philippines team, coach Ishii also expressed concern about the Thai team’s schedule: “The important key to today’s victory is that all the players have tried their best throughout 120 minutes of play, with enthusiastic support from the fans on the field. From now until the upcoming final, we only have 2 days of rest. We understand that there are injured players , which is a shame, but Thailand We will try our best with the remaining force.”
The first leg of the final will take place at 8:00 p.m. on January 2. On January 5, the two teams played again at Rajamangala Stadium.
