Insurgents from the Yemeni movement Ansarullah (Houthis) fired a rocket at Jizan International Airport. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
According to the SPA news agency with reference to the press secretary of the Arab coalition Türki al-Maliki, according to preliminary data, five people were injured as a result of the shelling.
Al-Maliki noted that the air harbor serves thousands of passengers – Saudis and foreigners.
According to him, the victims are passengers and airport employees.
The Houthis did not comment on the post.
An armed conflict has continued in Yemen since September 2014. The Ansarullah (Houthis) movement, backed by Iran, controls vast territories in the west of the country, including the capital Sana’u.
Government forces, with the support of the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia, have been fighting the Houthis since March 2015.
Parts of southern Yemen are controlled by separatists from the Southern Transitional Council. The UAE is actively supporting them.
