DECRYPTION – The capture of a ship, owned by an Israeli, aims to strengthen the influence of Yemeni insurgents against Saudi Arabia.
The pro-Iranian Yemeni insurgents kept their word. A few days after threatening to target Israeli ships in the Red Sea, the Houthis seized a commercial boat chartered by a Japanese group but owned by an Israeli businessman, in a sign of solidarity with the Palestinians of Gaza, victims of bombings by the Jewish state.
On Sunday, after moving away from the Saudi port of Jeddah, the Galaxy Leader has been “capture” further south, near the Yemeni coast, not far from the port of Hodeida, with 25 people on board. In a video released by the rebels, we see a helicopter land on the deck of the building and around ten armed men descend from it to launch an attack on the cockpit. Contrary to what the rebels trumpeted immediately afterwards, none of them was Israeli. The Houthis then took the ship to the port of al-Salif in Hodeidah.
