Sharing on the program, Ho Viet Trung said that when he first started his career, his family provided support to pursue his passion. Therefore, the male singer is not pressured about salary. Later, because he did not want to depend on relatives, the 8X singer decided to find his own path. Again, Ho Viet Trung admitted that those were “tragic” days because “no matter what stage, no matter how far away the location was, he was not afraid of hardship or suffering.”
Ho Viet Trung said: “When I had to worry about making money, I couldn’t choose where to live. Wherever the organizers tell me to be, I will be there. There were days when I had to sleep under the stage. Performing in very remote locations and without motels, I had to ask to sleep at people’s houses. When I bathe in well water, I have allergies all over my body. Every time I perform like this, I receive about 300,000 VND, but when I come back I still have 200,000 VND left over.”
Facing difficulties, Ho Viet Trung never doubted his choice. The male singer shared that there were days when he and everyone in the group received “harsh” reactions from the audience because the showrunner was “hanging a goat’s head to sell dog meat”.
Previously, Ho Viet Trung had long hair and looked like Chau Gia Kiet. Therefore, someone “incited” him to pretend to be a colleague on stage to perform. Although the 8X singer did not agree because he thought this was an act of deceiving the audience, the impresario still ignored the introduction. Seeing this, Ho Viet Trung left, and the audience rushed to destroy the stage out of anger at this act of deception.
Ho Viet Trung shared that it took him 10 years to be accepted and loved by the audience. For him, this is a lucky thing because there are colleagues who cannot survive and have to quit their job. The male guest said that after having a hit song, he wanted to increase his salary from 300,000 VND to 1 million VND. This made the manager unhappy so he scolded and chased her away.
The male singer expressed his opinion: “When I become more famous, I have to go on shows at a reasonable price, I can’t have the same salary as before. Yet the show boss cursed me. But now it costs tens of millions to still invite me.”
Ho Viet Trung said that when he was not famous, he wished to step on a big stage to sing but was ridiculed and scorned by the show manager. After building a name, this same person had to spend a large amount of money to invite male singers to perform. According to the guests, it is a trauma for artists when they are not accepted by the public. They are often discriminated against and treated.
