In the Ho Chi Minh City regional qualifying round, in the draw on December 17, the lucky draw brought the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education team into the group considered “death”, when there were still two very strong teams: Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Vietnam National University, besides the Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology team (group F).

The 7 first-place teams and 1 second-place team with the best performance will enter the play-off round to select 4 teams for the final round (finals).

The Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – National University team participated in season II, but also left many impressions when entering the play-off round and only lost to the stronger team, Van Lang University, with a score of 1-3. Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education team, participating in the TNSV tournament for the third time in a row, is also ready to promise to make a difference compared to the previous two participations. Especially in the second season, the team entered the play-off round and was very close to qualifying for the finals. However, encountering the Van Hien University team, who suddenly played more sublimely, caused the team to stop in regret (losing 1-4).

We still aim for team play, this is the strength of the team that has been built for a long time. We just focus on one match at a time in the qualifiers. This is a very heavy group, but with student football, any surprise can happen. In Group F, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy team plays the opening match against the Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry team at 3:00 p.m. on December 31. The next match is against the Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology team at 9:00 a.m. on January 6, and the final group stage match is against the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – National University team at 9:00 a.m. on January 11.
Qualifying round of the 3rd Vietnamese Youth Football Tournament – 2025 THACO Cup has 66 teams that will be divided into 6 groups according to geographical area from December 28, 2024 to January 18, 2025. Specifically, including the northern area (from December 30, 2024 – January 10, 2025 at Water Resources University yard); Central Coast region (from January 6 – January 12, 2025 at Military Region 5 yard – Da Nang); South Central and Central Highlands regions (January 10 – January 18, 2025 at Nha Trang University yard); Southeast region (January 4 – January 12, 2025 at Bau Thanh Stadium, Ba Ria – Vung Tau); Southwest region (January 8 – January 17, 2025 at Can Tho Stadium) and Ho Chi Minh City region (December 28, 2024 – January 15, 2025 at Ton Duc Thang University stadium) to select 11 teams along with the home team Ton Duc Thang University. Duc Thang competes in the final round of the tournament from March 1 to March 16, 2025.
