Colombian striker Juan Camilo “Cucho” Hernández confirmed the sweet moment he is experiencing in front of goal and this Wednesday he put his team on his shoulder by scoring a hat trick that led the Columbus Crew to a 3-0 victory against the Chicago Fire.
Just the initial 23 minutes were enough to seal a commitment that could have ended with the third goal, after Cucho Hernández will advance his team with two penalties converted at 8′ and 16′which gave Columbus an early 2-0 lead.
However, Almost 10 minutes later the attacker was again present on the scoreboard by scoring with an unstoppable header. to finish a good shot from the corner.
With the 3-0 win in their pocket, the Columbus Crew dedicated themselves to managing the game and playing with the need of a Chicago Fire that at no time represented a danger to its rival, the final score being decided.
Cucho Hernández, 24 years old, is experiencing an extraordinary moment of form and has accumulated seven goals in the last three games.
He had also scored a hat trick against Montreal two weeks ago and scored a goal against Orlandobefore the three goals against Chicago.
In total, he has 13 goals and 11 assists in 22 MLS games this season and the Crew is third, eleven points behind first place in the East, occupied by Cincinnati.
Different reality for Chicago, which occupies 11th position in the MLS Eastern Conference with 33 points and if it had achieved the three points it would have reached the 36 accumulated by DC United, owner of the last place that gives access to the postseason.
