He should be recalled to the Indian team; Former player with crucial suggestion

  • Manjrekar wants Kuldeep Yadav in Indian squad
  • India lost 3-0 in ODIs
  • India lost by 4 runs in the last ODI

With the complete defeat in the ODI series against South Africa, the former players have come up with the suggestion that the Indian team should be disbanded. India could not win any of the three matches in the series. The irresponsibility of the batsmen and the poor bowling of the bowlers have contributed to India’s defeat.

Spinner R Ashwin, who returned to the national team after a long absence, could not take advantage of the opportunity. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the series due to injury. Yusvendra Chahal is the only specialist spinner in the Indian team. However, Chahal was not good at taking wickets.

Former cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has demanded that Kuldeep Yadav be recalled as the spinners’ poor form continues. The Indian bowlers could not find the rhythm in all the three matches. The bowlers’ failure to take wickets and control runs, especially in the middle overs, led to India’s defeat.

Manjrekar says look at India’s bowling attack and think about what needs to change. When Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal were in the team, India had won many ODIs. They took wickets in the middle overs. Both did not allow their opponents to cross the 300-run mark. Manjrekar pointed out that this created an opportunity for the batsmen to chase the run and win.

India now need spinners who can change the game in the middle overs. Kuldeep Yadav is one such bowler. Neither Jayant Yadav nor Ravindra Jadeja can take on this role. Manjrekar said that India needs a spinner who can change the game.

India lost the last match against South Africa by 4 runs. The victory was on the edge but the tail end could not survive the pressure of the final overs. South Africa scored 287 while India were all out for 283. India lost the Test series 2-1 and lost the ODI series 3-0. This is the third time since 2000 that India have lost the entire series.
