Hathras accident: Why did the stampede happen after the satsang, who is responsible for the tragic accident?

Hathras stampede: More than 50 people have died so far due to stampede during satsang in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. More than 150 people are reported to be injured in this accident. What do the eyewitnesses of the incident say?

Shakuntala, an eyewitness to the accident, says that after the satsang was over, people came out. Outside, the road was at a height and there was a drain underneath it. People started falling in it one after the other. Some people were crushed.

The district administration says that permission was taken from the sub-divisional magistrate for a private event (satsang). They say that police were deployed to maintain law and order but the arrangements inside the premises were to be made by the organisers. A high-level committee has been formed to investigate whether the arrangements were made properly in this regard or not. People were coming out after the satsang when the stampede occurred.
