The statement came as Israel bombed Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, a densely populated area of 2.3 million people, in response to Saturday’s surprise attack by militants.
Israel claimed that Hamas has a network of tunnels and bunkers in the Gaza Strip, which they plan to target. Conricus said Israeli airstrikes were targeting points that would destroy the tunnel network.
