AFP reported on December 18 that Spanish police arrested two people last month, after a year of investigating the disappearance of a man in November 2023.
During the search of the suspect’s residence, police said they discovered several images from the location application showing that a vehicle may have been used during the crime. Accordingly, when observing the street view of the Google Maps mapping application, police discovered an image taken in October recording a man placing an object covered with a white shroud, most likely the corpse. victim’s body, into the trunk of the car in the town of Tajueco.
Police said images from Google Maps contributed to the case, but were not the deciding factor.
The victim’s body was discovered in a cemetery in Soria province last week in an intact and severely decomposed condition. Sheet El Pais reported that the victim was a 33-year-old Cuban citizen.
Last year, a relative reported the above man’s disappearance, saying he had received text messages from the victim with many suspicious points. The victim said he had met a woman and was on his way out of Spain and was going to throw away his phone.
In November, police arrested two suspects, a woman believed to be the victim’s lover and a man believed to be her ex-lover. Two people were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the disappearance and murder of the victim mentioned above. The case continues to be investigated by Spanish authorities.
