Globo will use the remake of “Renascer”, the network’s next soap opera, to debut new talents it is betting on for the future. This is the case of Uiliana Lima, a 29-year-old black actress born in Alagoas.
Uiliana will make her debut on open TV and in soap operas as one of the “jacutingueiras”, as the girls from Dona Jacutinga’s prostitution house are known, played by Juliana Paes in the new version. In 1993, the role of the brothel owner was played by Fernanda Montenegro.
The actress has stood out in theater in recent years. She was part of the cast of one of the reinterpretations of the play “Agreste”, by Newton Moreno, directed by Duda Maia.
In 2021, Uiliana was in the series “Chão de Estrelas”, directed by Hilton Lacerda and Milena Times for Canal Brasil and Globoplay. She played the character Sônia.
The young woman also went through a project set up by Globo between 2016 and 2018 to capture and develop new talent, called Trupe em Cena.
Directed by Ary Coslov, Globo’s experienced television drama director, the workshop aimed to artistically develop diverse talents and offered classes in body, voice, costumes, scenography and theater history.
Among the names that made up the Trupe em Cena are names like Barbara Reis, current protagonist of “Terra e Paixão”, and Julia Dalavia, who has already done “Órfãos da Terra” (2019) and “Pantanal” (2022), among other productions of the broadcaster.
“Renascer” began recording this month in Rio de Janeiro, after a month of work in Ilhéus, Bahia. The plot premieres in January, replacing “Land and Paixão”.
