A sudden blackout is paralyzing the PlayStation Network, Sony’s online platform, impacting gamers all over the world. The outage, which began appearing in the early hours of the morning, is causing concern and frustration among the large user community. The problem appears to have originated around 2:00 amas reported by online sources and confirmed by data from the Downdetector website. Affected services include access to online titles, account management and social features linked to the PlayStation network.
The interruption was not limited to Italy alone, but affected numerous countries, demonstrating the global scope of the problem. At the moment, Sony has not released an official statement explaining the nature or cause of the outage or in any way communicating when the service will actually be restored.
This isn’t the first time the PlayStation Network has suffered disruptions of this magnitude. Similar outages have been recorded in the past, with the most recent dating back to July 1 last year.
