The MotoGP World Championship continues with the German Grand Prix from 5 to 7 July, just one week after the race in the Netherlands. At Assen, Italian Pecco Bagnaia took his third consecutive victory and continues to close the gap on important points in the fight for the top of the standings. Jorge Martín continues to lead the championship, but there are now only ten points separating the Spaniard from the reigning champion. Marc Márquez is third in the world championship, but somewhat behind, being more than 50 points behind his compatriot.
In Moto2, Sergio Garcia remains the leader, although he is only 14 points behind his closest rival, the Japanese Ai Ogura. Joe Roberts dropped back a little after the last round and fell to third position. Meanwhile, David Alonso continues to set the pace in Moto3, a category he comfortably leads with a 39-point advantage over Collin Veijer.
