From Nanjing, China is having the largest Covid-19 outbreak after Wuhan

Nearly 200 people have been infected with Covid-19 after the first cases were detected at Nanjing’s airport on July 20.
Global Times reported that all flights from Nanjing airport had to be suspended until August 11. City authorities have begun a large-scale testing campaign. According to Xinhua, all 9.3 million people in Nanjing, including tourists, will be tested for Covid-19.
Nanjing authorities believe that the current outbreak is related to the Delta variant, which is highly contagious, and because it initially appeared at a crowded airport, the pathogen is at risk of spreading further.

Nanjing airport management has been criticized for lax disease surveillance.

Test results show that the virus that causes Covid-19 has spread to at least 13 cities in China, including Chengdu and the capital Beijing. However, the Global Times quoted experts as saying that the new outbreak was at an early stage and could still be controlled.
Nanjing authorities said that seven cases of Covid-19 were in critical condition. It is not clear whether the current Covid-19 cases in China have been vaccinated.
To date, China has been able to control the Covid-19 Pandemic by closing its borders and quickly quelling local Covid-19 outbreaks.
