The Formula 1 World Championship continues with the Chinese Grand Prix, after a week’s break after the Japanese GP. In Suzuka, Max Verstappen scored his third victory of the season, overcoming the technical problems that his car had presented in Australia and that caused him to abandon the race. Second position in Japan went to Checo Pérez, which meant the third 1-2 this year for Red Bull, which will seek to repeat the result this weekend in Shanghai, a city that has not hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix since 2019.
For its part, Ferrari will try to ruin the party for the champion team, which seems to face the championship with some comfort, as it already did in Melbourne, when Carlos Sainz won the victory and Charles Leclerc arrived behind his teammate. Fernando Alonso, recently renewed by Aston Martin and sixth in the last event, will seek to continue collecting points that will keep him competing side by side with the McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, in the individual classification.
Qualifying results at the Chinese Grand Prix
Max Verstappen takes pole followed by Checo Pérez. Fernando Alonso will start after the two Red Bulls. For his part, Carlos Sainz will start from seventh place.
