The number of victims of floods and mudflows on the Black Sea coast of Turkey has reached 77 people. This was reported on Monday by the Administration for the Prevention and Elimination of the Consequences of Emergency Situations (AFAD) under the government of the republic.
According to the report, 62 people died in the northern province of Kastamonu, 14 in Sinop, and one local resident in Bartin.
341 people were evacuated from the disaster zone in Ulus district in Bartyn, 1,480 in Kastamonu province, and 560 local residents in Ayanjik district of Sinop province.
The natural disaster zone in the north of the country was previously visited by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The head of state assured that the state will do everything possible to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters in the north and south of the country.
Heavy rains in northern Turkey on August 11 provoked mudflows, landslides and floods.
