Voting for the first phase of assembly elections 2024 in Jharkhand will take place tomorrow i.e. on Wednesday. In such a situation, the election campaign for the first phase has also stopped on Monday evening. The noise of election campaign for Hale phase also stopped at 5 pm on Monday evening. Now political parties have started campaigning for the second phase. The main electoral contest in Jharkhand is between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA and the Congress-led India Alliance.

Let us tell you that on Wednesday, voting will be held on 43 assembly seats of 15 districts. During this period, a total of 683 candidates will try their luck in the electoral fray. These include famous faces like former Chief Minister Champai Soren, Health Minister Banna Gupta, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, former Chief Minister Madhu Koda’s wife Geeta Koda and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das’s daughter-in-law Purnima Das.
Election Commission has made complete preparations
The Election Commission has made complete preparations for the first phase of voting on the seats. Maximum six seats in the first round are in East Singhbhum district. After this, there are five assembly seats each in Palamu, West Singhbhum and Ranchi districts, where voting is on Wednesday. Koderma and Ramgarh districts have the least one seat each.
The Commission said that it has decided to send election workers to the polling centers through helidropping in five districts. There are 225 such polling stations which are located in West Singhbhum, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla and Garhwa. Election workers will be taken to the polling center here on Monday. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has given this information on Sunday.
Here are the famous faces in the first phase
The popular seats in the first phase of Jharkhand elections include Seraikela, Ranchi, Jamshedpur West, Jagannathpur and Jamshedpur East. Talking about special faces, former Chief Minister Champai Soren is contesting from Seraikela seat. The former chief minister had joined the BJP in August ahead of the Jharkhand elections. In Jamshedpur West, Congress Health Minister Banna Gupta is facing JDU leader Saryu Roy. Saryu Roy had defeated the then Chief Minister Raghubar Das in the 2019 elections.
In Jamshedpur East, Congress’s Ajoy Kumar is contesting against BJP candidate Purnima Das, daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das. In Jagannathpur, former Chief Minister Madhu Koda’s wife and BJP candidate Geeta Koda will face Congress leader Sona Ram Sinku. At the same time, in Ranchi seat, MLA since 1996 and senior BJP leader Chandeshwar Prasad Singh (CP Singh) is facing Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s current Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji.
