On its social networks, the French civil security indicates having carried out more than 200 water drops with the two Canadairs mobilized by Paris in the Kabyle region, mainly in Tizi Ouzou and Béjaïa.

The French Canadairs were joined this Saturday by a first water bomber sent by Spain.

A second plane of the same type must also land in Algiers in the coming hours, while Switzerland must also participate in the European effort by providing another Canadair.

This announcement comes as the Head of State is this Saturday evening, at the bedside of the wounded at the military hospital of Ain Naâdja and at the hospital of Douera, in the suburbs of Algiers, according to a post from the Algerian presidency on its social networks.

A military tribute ceremony was also held this Saturday in the presence of General Changriha, before the remains of soldiers killed in the fires, were returned to their families to be buried.

According to a still provisional assessment, 75 people were killed including 28 soldiers.

No less than 22 individuals were arrested, including 11 in Tizi Ouzou, suspected of being at the origin of these fires described as criminal by the Algerian authorities.
