The coach of the Brazilian national team, Fernando Dinizspoke this Monday in advance of the commitment in which the Canarinha will visit Montevideo, Uruguay, for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, and took the opportunity to show his support for Neymarwho has been criticized in recent days for what happened after the meeting with Venezuela.
Several reports from Brazil and Uruguay have assumed that Neymar would have threatened the entire squad with abandoning the concentration after the controversy he had with the fans in the 0-0 against La Vinotinto, so it had to be Diniz himself who came forward with comments in favor of the 10.
“No coach in the world would give up Neymar with the hunger he has and the desire he has. One thing worth advertising is Neymar’s numbers, he is first in almost all important aspects for a forward,” commented the coach.
He later recalled that if Neymar is part of the Scratch camp it is because the winger has achieved the necessary numbers to justify his call-up.
“First in goals, assists, participation in goals, dribbling… The numbers explain why you are here. Once again he was decisive and provided assistance against Venezuela. “I already said that Neymar is one of the greatest players in the history of Brazilian football and world football,” Diniz added.
With Diniz’s show of support for Neymar, it is expected that the Al-Hilal player in Saudi Arabia can be part of the starting lineup in the match against Uruguay this Tuesday, for matchday 4 of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
