Protest from farmers in France
In Dijon, farmers formed a convoy with more than 80 tractors, honking their horns in the city yesterday.
Some farmers drove their tractors on the city’s tram tracks.
On the tractors there are slogans such as “Our end means your starvation” and “Do we have the right to have a future as young farmers?” Farmers who hung posters protested the delay in European Union (EU) support payments to the agricultural sector.
Farmers also protested in front of the Regional Council, which delivers EU aid to the agricultural sector to farmers.
French farmers poured animal manure in front of the Council, demanding payments to their sector be made as soon as possible.
Activists left live sheep in front of the building and wrote “Shame” on the official banner of the institution.
Farmers called on the Council’s management to resign.
