The FalComics 2024 festival, dedicated to the world of comics and pop culture, will face theimportant social issues related to the world of adolescence in the first of a series of events scheduled during the year in the main pop festivals of the CFC circuit of LEG and STEP.
On the stage in Piazza Mazzini, the educational psychologist Stefano Rossi, the curator of the video games area of the National Cinema Museum of Turin Fabio Viola, and the journalist Maurizio Di Fazio will discuss cyberbullying, digital loneliness and gender violence. The aim is to raise public awareness of issues such as cyberbullying, hikikomori and gender violence. This innovative approach aims to engage and educate new generations through discussions and interactive activities.
Stefano Rossi is one of the most illustrious educational psychologists in Italy, which has become an institution in the scholastic field by developing the ‘Rossi Method’ which promotes new methods of cooperation and which has become the most adopted text in schools – Edito Pearson. Rossi has trained over 700 schools and more than 90 thousand teachers and parents on the Rossi Method through 2400 conferences distributed throughout the peninsula. His new book was released in March, dedicated to the universe of adolescents, published by Feltrinelli entitled “If you don’t believe in yourself, who will? The art of surviving adolescence”, a book in seven chapters that correspond to seven forms of courage to give yourself the most precious gift: discover the power of empathy and find the strength to let your light shine.
Fabio Viola is currently curator of the video game area at the National Cinema Museum in Turin.
He worked for multinational video game companies on titles such as Fifa, The Sims and Crash Bandicoot before becoming one of the pioneers of gamification. He teaches in numerous universities and academies and recently obtained the New Media chair at the International Film School of Cuba. He is the author of numerous essays such as “The Art of Involvement” (Hoepli) and the recent “GameDesigner” (Franco Angeli)
With over 20 participating organizations and numerous industry experts, the festival offers a unique opportunity to explore how video games and other forms of pop culture can be powerful tools for education and social awareness.
