The 2024 edition of FalComics, the festival dedicated to comics and pop culture which took place in Falconara Marittima from 24 to 26 May, ended with an extraordinary success. Organized by LEG Live Emotion Group on the initiative of the mayor Stefania Signorini, the event attracted around 235,000 visitors of all ages, from all over Italy.
Satisfied the Mayor of Falconara Marittima Stefania Signorini: “Every year the results of FalComics manage to surprise, because they always exceed expectations. This was also the case for FalComics 2024 and the satisfaction is double: never before has the festival managed to involve the whole city as in this edition, with an exhibition area that has gone from 64,000 to 98,000 m2. This resulted a great organizational effort and the associations, schools, commercial operators and, to a greater extent than in the past, also the beach operators also contributed to the success of the event. Special thanks go to the artistic director Gianluca DelCarlo, for being able to give substance to my dream, to Sandro Giacomelli, Tania Ferri, Elisabetta De Luca, for having made the experience and professionalism of LEG available, as well as to all those who the police and all the volunteers collaborated in this event. The aspect that makes me most proud is the reaction of many Falconara residents, who write to me or stop me in the street to compliment me and to underline how the city has been more alive than ever in recent days. This year’s theme, OPEN MIND, came to life through numerous activities and events, including the evocative creation of the “living manifesto” painted by Paolo Barbieri and Sonia Ricci. The festival, which has expanded the area of the city center from 64,000 m2 last year to 98,000 this year, stands out as a consolidated reality among the sector fairs, with over 20 national partners, including numerous newspapers, over 100 events in three days, 13 thematic areas and more than 100 total guests. The success of Falcomics, sanctioned by 235,000 visitors, must also necessarily be traced back to the sensitivity and professionalism of the organizers in the guise of LEG Live Emotion Groupcapable of working in the city of Falconara Marittima but above all with the city, managing to create from morning until late evening a journey of content, emotions and colors for adults and children in harmony with the streets of the town and the people of Falconara themselves.

FalComics 2024 celebrated not only the culture of comics and games, but also the power of music to evoke emotions and create deep connections between people, regardless of their age. In the evening of On Saturday 25 May a river of people poured into Parco Kennedy for the concert by the queen of TV theme songs Cristina D’Avena, together with the charismatic Gem Boy, with special guest Enzo Draghi, voice of the legendary Mirko of Bee Hive. The performance did not want to represent just a tribute to history, but actually preserved and handed down an important piece of Italian pop culture. Live performances during the festival captured the essence of a bygone time and the enthusiasm of a young audience, proving that the magic of TV theme songs is timeless. The ability to D’Avena and Draghi to revive these historical moments through their music it was a testament to their lasting impact, a generational, cultural and social bridge. Among the musical big names of this edition, Cristina Scabbia, together with Maki and Andrea of Lacuna Coil and the legendary Mal, who inflamed the audience by telling anecdotes taken from her biography “La Furia di Mal”.
The value of Falcomics 2024 must also be measured on the ability to address issues related to current events and problems related to the world of adolescence. On the main stage in Piazza Mazzini, Stefano Rossi, educational psychologist and creator of the “Rossi Method” and Fabio Viola, curator of the video games area of the National Cinema Museum of Turin,moderated by journalist Maurizio Di Fazio they discussed cyberbullying, digital loneliness and gender violence trying to convey the useful message not only for young people that failure or error must be seen as a step towards success, a crucial moment of learning, a stimulus. Very colorful i two events dedicated to Cosplay: “Cosplay Grand Tour by RiotGames” and the “FalComics Cosplay Contest” hosted by veterans Giorgia Vecchini and Letizia Cosplay.
