Fact Check: This video of assault on AAP leader is not from recent times, old video went viral with misleading claim
A video of a leader’s meeting is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the video, some people are seen assaulting the leader during the meeting. The same video is being shared on social media with the claim that people beat up an Aam Aadmi Party leader in Delhi. It is further being said in the claim of the video that now the public in Delhi has started rejecting the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party. Now there is anger among the people against Aam Aadmi Party.
After sharing the viral video on Facebook, it is written in the Hindi language caption that “People of Delhi have started beating the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party in the matter of free beach in Delhi. See in the video, the common man said that we pay taxes to them with great difficulty. You people ignore Hindus due to Muslim appeasement. You people should not try to come to our locality from now on, otherwise you people will be worshiped with shoes and the public is also worshiping.,

During Newsmobile’s investigation, we found that the viral video is being shared on social media with misleading claims.
After watching the video going viral on social media, we feared it to be misleading. After which we investigated. First we broke the video into a few keyframes and then started searching through Google Lens. During search we found the viral video in a post made by the official Twitter handle of Sambit Patra. Which was uploaded on November 21, 2022.

According to the caption given along with the video in the post, the leader who became victim of the scuffle in the viral video is Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Matiala Assembly Gulab Singh Yadav.
To confirm the information found in the above post, we started searching more closely on Google. During the search, we found a keyframe matching the viral video published on Aaj Tak’s website on November 22, 2022. an article Found in.
According to the article, the viral video is from just before the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections 2022.
