Fact Check: This video of a person shooting a cow is going viral with misleading claims, know the whole truth
A video is becoming increasingly viral on social media. The video is of brutality being meted out to an animal by a man, where he is seen shooting an animal on its head. The same video is being shared on social media with the claim that Kerala Congress media in-charge Mohammed Mujahid celebrated Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s election to Parliament from Wayanad seat by shooting an animal.
After sharing the viral video on Facebook, it is written in the English language caption, ‘This Barbarian is Mohammed Mujahid Islam, the Media in-charge of Kerala Congress. He shoots a Cow in the Head to Celebrate Priyanka Gandhi’s victory.Share this Video till it reaches the Home Ministry of India and he gets Arrested.

During Newsmobile’s investigation, we found that the viral video is being shared with misleading claims.
We investigated to find out the truth of the claim being shared along with the video going viral on social media. First of all we broke the viral video into some keyframes and then started searching through Google Lens. During the search, we found a keyframe matching the viral video in an article published on May 07, 2024 on a website called Pragnews.com.
According to the received article, the incident in the viral video was carried out by a resident of Manipur. However, it is not mentioned here which place is in Manipur. But it became clear from the received article that the viral video was already available on the internet before Priyanka Gandhi became the parliamentarian from Wayanad.
After this we started searching more closely on Google for confirmation. During the search, we found an article related to the viral video on a website called The Free Press Journal. an articlefound. Which was uploaded on May 07, 2024. Here it is told that the incident in the viral video is from Manipur. For this, PETA has registered an FIR and along with Cyber Crime of Manipur Police, they are trying to find out which place in Manipur the video is from.
It is noteworthy that from Wayanad seat Results November 24, 2024 Were declared. In Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi got 6 lakh 22 thousand 338 votes, while at second place CPI candidate Satyam Mokeri could get only 2 lakh 11407 votes. From the facts we found during the investigation, we came to know that the viral video is not from recent days but from the year May, 2024, whereas the results of Wayanad seat were declared on November 24, 2024. This proves that the viral video is not of the celebration of Priyanka Gandhi’s victory in Wayanad.
