Formula 1 continues on European soil. This Sunday, the fourteenth race of the World Championship will take place in Belgium, specifically at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit between 26 and 28 July. Once again, the cars will take on the well-known Eau Rouge and Raidillon curves in a championship that is becoming more and more even. This is the last round before the holidays. A month of rest to return with the engines at full throttle at the end of August.
Australian driver Oscar Piastri claimed his first ever World Championship victory at Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix. The podium was rounded out by the two English drivers on the grid, with Lando Norris in second place and Lewis Hamilton rounding out the podium.
Max Verstappen did not have his best weekend of the year and finished the race in fifth place. Despite this, the three-time world champion still leads the standings by 76 points from Norris. The Red Bull driver has achieved seven victories and a total of nine podiums so far this season.
The Spaniards were far from reaching the top. Carlos Sainz finished sixth in the standings, after starting fourth. Fernando Alonso failed to score points and finished 11th, after starting seventh.
What is the standings for the Formula 1 World Championship?
In the drivers’ championship, Monaco’s Charles Leclerc is in third place. Outside the podium is Sainz in fourth place, followed by Piastri and Hamilton. Alonso, of the Aston Martin team, is in ninth position, having not managed to finish in the top three so far this season.
In the constructors’ championship, Red Bull continues to dominate the other teams. McLaren is in second place, 51 points behind the leaders. Ferrari is in third place, 67 points behind the team formed by Verstappen and Checo Pérez.

George Russell leads the race. Lewis Hamilton, 2nd, and Oscar Piastri, 3rd, on the podium. Charles Leclerc, 4th, Max Verstappen, 5th, Lando Narris, 6th. Carlos Sainz is 7th, Checo Pérez, 8th and Fernando Alonso, 9th on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
