After two seasons (2023 and 2024), THACO Cup 2025 has a record number of participants, with a total of 67 teams from universities, colleges and academies across the country. Of these, 66 teams competed in the qualifying round in 6 regions, and host Ton Duc Thang University was given a special pass to enter the final round.

Ho Chi Minh City regional qualifying round with 28 participating teams, starting as early as December 28. On the same afternoon, the opening ceremony of the qualifying round of the TNSV THACO Cup 2025 officially took place at Ton Duc Thang University yard. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet – Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Vietnam Student Association; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu, Vice President of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF); Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Information; Associate Professor-Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice Principal of Ton Duc Thang University.
On the side of sponsors and companions, there is Mr. Pham Van Tai – General Director of THACO Group – the main sponsor of THACO Cup 2025; Mr. Duong Minh Duc – Deputy Director of Sales and Marketing Saigontourist Group.
