Som Brasil dedicated to singer Sandy Leah, which will air next Wednesday (6) on Globo, will make the singer see for the first time a performance she gave with singer Michael Jackson (1958-2009). Bial obtained an unreleased video of the performance, considered an urban legend to this day. Sandy was small and had no records of the meeting.
Pedro Bial’s conversation with Sandy covers her childhood, detailing the feelings she has today about her development in the midst of so much fame, such as adolescence, family, marriage and motherhood. Sandy will show rare articles from his career, which have never been seen on television before.
Among the rare items from the duo with Júnior Lima that will be displayed are the trophy given by Lima Duarte to the duo, during the program Som Brasil, in 1989; gold disks; a little shoe that Sandy wore when she was between 7 and 8 years old, the age at which she released her first album with Junior, titled Aniversário do Tatu; as well as costumes from the live shows at Maracanã, in 2002, and at Rock in Rio, in 2001.
Sandy will also talk about why she separated from her brother Júnior Lima, in 2007. “Back then, we thought we would sing together forever, but there was a need for both of us to live individual paths, because we thought we had already experienced everything we could together . And this decision happened simultaneously for both of them, almost in a magical way”, explains the singer.
Finally, the special also features international meetings, such as with Coldplay, at the show in São Paulo; and the time when Sandy, as a child, participated in the sign language choreography at a Michael Jackson concert. The only memory the singer had of the moment was a low-quality photo on the internet. On the program, she will watch the video of the presentation for the first time.
In addition to opening her heart and details of her life, Sandy presents intimate versions of some hits, such as Quando Você Passa (Turu Turu), That One of 30, Pra Me Refazer, Tudo Teu, Respirar and others, as well as Yellow, by Coldplay.
Next to Xororó, Sandy shows Me Espera; and with Lucas Lima, her husband, Areia. In Você Pra Semper (Enveja), the singer has the special participation of pianist Amaro Freitas, in a sunset setting. Agnes Nunes completes the participation by singing De Cada Vez with Sandy.
O Som Brasil – Sandy airs around 11 pm, right after “Todas as Flores”, on Globo.
