The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, drew attention to the strength and dynamism of the Turkish economy, recalling that the country recorded a record growth of 21.7% in the second quarter of 2021.
The Turkish Head of State spoke on Wednesday evening at the graduation ceremony of the gendarmerie and coastguard academy.
He welcomed the performance announced today in Turkish economic growth: in fact, in the second quarter of 2021, the Turkish economy recorded growth of + 21.7%, the second best growth within the countries of the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), after the United Kingdom.
“The growth announced today demonstrates the dynamism, the productive force and the solidity of the Turkish economy,” he said.
And to continue: “With real growth at 21.7% in the 2nd quarter, the Turkish economy recorded the 2nd best performance in the world”.
The Turkish president also explained that these performances are closely linked to the good results in terms of exports.
“Thanks to our performance in exports, the current account deficit fell below 30 billion dollars, and employment recorded its highest level in 35 months,” he said in conclusion.
