Erdogan: Organization of Turkic States should not bother anyone

The Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States will henceforth bear a new name – the Organization of Turkic States.

This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a press conference following the VIII summit of leaders of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council) in Istanbul.

“The Turkic countries have remained the center of culture and civilization for thousands of years. I am sure that this will continue to be so. The sun will “rise” again from the East. The organization of the Turkic states should not bother anyone. This is a platform for the development of interstate relations, ”the Turkish leader said.

President Erdogan expressed confidence that thanks to the new name and structure, the Organization of Turkic States will more actively develop, strengthen and strengthen.

The head of the Turkish state noted that the solidarity of the Turkic-speaking states re-emerged during the pandemic. The Turkish leader said that following the results of the current summit in Istanbul, a decision was made to allocate 2.5 million doses of vaccine to African countries, 2 million of which will be provided by Turkey.

“During the pandemic, the Turkic-speaking states extended a helping hand, demonstrating unity and solidarity,” the president said.
