Erdogan: No one can lead Turkey off its path

Turkey will not allow the implementation of secret conspiracies aimed at leading it astray and hindering the country’s development. This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a video message on the occasion of the Republic Day, which is annually celebrated in the country on October 29.

The head of state congratulated his compatriots on this significant date, noting that this day has become a source of pride for the citizens of Turkey and one of the glorious pages in the history of the country.

On the 98th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey, President Erdogan expressed deep gratitude and paid tribute to its founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his associates, and also honored the memory of all those who died in the struggle for the independence of the Motherland.

“On my own behalf, on behalf of the state and the people, I thank all the members of our parliament who served our country within the walls of the Great National Assembly and paid the price when it was necessary. I wish success to our security forces serving on the territory of our country and beyond its borders in the name of Turkey, peace, security and the well-being of our people. I sincerely congratulate our entrepreneurs, non-governmental organizations and government officials who proudly carry our glorious flag around the world, ”Erdogan said.

According to him, the people of Turkey, drawing strength from their deeply rooted history, continue their efforts to develop the country and achieve its goals. President Erdogan noted that Turkey has successfully overcome the most difficult phase of the coronavirus pandemic thanks to the country’s effective healthcare system.

“In addition, we ended 2020 with an economic growth rate of 1.8 percent, while the global economy fell by more than 3 percent. We have not shown weakness in any area, including the fight against terrorism, protecting public safety, investment and cross-border operations, ”Erdogan added.

The head of state also said that Turkey’s strong support for “its Libyan brothers” who opposed the putschists and “Azerbaijani Turks” who fought against the occupation of Karabakh changed the fate of both countries. “The putschists were defeated in Libya, and our Azerbaijani brothers returned their lands after almost 30 years of occupation,” he said.

“We also thwarted the attempts of those who wanted to deprive Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus of energy resources in the Eastern Mediterranean,” the Turkish leader added.

President Erdogan also stated that Turkey’s successes in the economy, domestic and foreign policy were achieved in the difficult conditions of the pandemic and that they are an indicator of the effectiveness of the presidential system of government, as well as the country’s powerful infrastructure.

“We continue to build on the momentum achieved last year, strengthening it in all areas, primarily in the economy, manufacturing and export. In the run-up to the centenary of the Republic, we will not allow any force, unscrupulous scenario or secret conspiracy to prevent Turkey from progressing. We will fight for our Turkey, preserving our unity, solidarity and brotherhood. This is our biggest guarantee as a nation, and it will be a guide for us, as in previous years, ”concluded Erdogan.
