Harris bets on the Latino vote this Thursday in Arizona and Nevada
Vice President Kamala Harris has added the renowned Mexican groups Maná and Los Tigres del Norte to her campaign to attract the Latino vote in key states such as Arizona and Nevada. This Thursday, at an event in Arizona titled “When We Vote We Win,” Los Tigres del Norte will offer a closing musical performance. According to the most recent polls, Harris is only three points behind Donald Trump in that State, so her campaign seeks to attract more support among diverse communities, especially among migrants.
At another event on the same Thursday, Harris will be in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Maná and Jennifer Lopez will also perform. In Nevada, polls show a tie between Harris and the Republican candidate. The Harris-Walz campaign believes that these public figures and artists, who are “trusted voices” for millions of Americans, can encourage voters to vote. By calling on influential artists, the campaign hopes to strengthen the mobilization of the Latino vote and achieve greater participation at the polls.
For his part, the Republican candidate, former President Donald Trump, will also make appearances in Nevada and New Mexico to attract the Latino vote, although he has not announced the participation of Latino events that will support him in this part of the campaign. In Arizona he will stop to do an interview with political commentator Tucker Carlson.
