Parliament approves emergency

This gives an average of 18 deaths per 100,000 residents. El Salvador was reeling from the horrors of civil war until 1992. Now the increasing killings have troubled the government.

El Salvador, with a population of about 6.5 million, has the highest number of homicides in the world. In 2015, there were 103 murders per 100,000 people in El Salvador. This figure is the highest in the world in terms of freedom. Due to the emergency, there has been a ban on gathering of people and gathering people for meetings across the country.
