NEW YORK – Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic will come together musically this Thursday to light up the summer from “Orchard Beach” in The Bronx as part of the “Rise Up NYC” concert series.
El Gran Combo and Héctor Acosta “El Torito” will share the stage today on the public beach of the so-called “Salsa County”.
The meeting, the only one for artists in Spanish as part of the municipal initiative, will bring together the exponents of salsa, and merengue and bachata on the same stage in the show that It will be free of cost for citizens.
The event starts at 6 pmThe concert will take place in the parking area.
Attendees will be able to enter the venue from 5:30 p.m.
The organizers of the activity They recommend that those interested arrive by public transport to the areaso that they avoid traffic congestion and can arrive on time to the “show”, which is expected to be a very crowded one.
The second “Rise Up NYC” concert series this year, sponsored by the City government, kicked off on July 19. All presentations are free of charge.
In total there are eight free community concerts in the five boroughs of the city between that date and August 19.
Other artists who have already performed at the event this summer are: Luciano, Ding Dong, Farmer Nappy, Pumpa, Chubb Rock, Nice and SmoothAlisha, Brenda K Starr, Peter Gunz, and Grand Puba.
The initiative seeks to celebrate unity, freedom and respect among New Yorkers.
