The renowned actor Eduardo Yáñez recently held a meeting with the media, a moment where they took the opportunity to find out his opinion on the determination made by Eduardo Verástegui, who registered as a presidential candidate in Mexico for the 2024 elections.
The protagonist of ‘Destilando Amor’ assured that it is a process that not only requires time, but also planning,while considering that these are the results of what he ends up doing because of the recognition he has for his career as an actor.
“I think this guy is an idiot (Eduardo Verástegui), No? In order to be president of a country, you must first prepare yourself, not be a populist; Look at the consequences we have right now due to populism,” said Yáñez.
“I have never spoken badly about anyone, but it seems an offense to the public, the Mexican people, that this guy (Eduardo Verástegui) says he wants to be president.”. What have you done to want to be president? Belonging to a religious group, talking nonsense in interviews and becoming very ecclesiastical seems stupid to me. and what it should focus on is being true, which it is not, and you cannot use the Mexican people for your personal stuff. It seems like an aberration to me,” he added to reporters.
“I think that Our politicians have the obligation to be academically prepared,first of all, and then fulfill what they promise, that is the biggest failure of all,” he added.
Yáñez explained that this type of decision could ultimately yield serious results that would end up affecting the nation’s citizens.
“It’s as if José Elías Moreno or one of my soap opera colleagues told me tomorrow, ‘I’m going to be president, dude.’ You vote for me!’ Well, I’ll send it to hell. To be president of a country you have to be prepared. Make no mistake, if someone were president, like this guy you just mentioned to me, he would be three times worse or five times worse.“added the Mexican.
