This is probably one of the Ultimate Team seasons in which it is most difficult to defend, so it is interesting to have quality centre-backs. Among the active players we find many who are quite competitive (in fact, I published an article about the best in LaLiga). But if you need an Icon or FUT Heroes to complete your EA Sports FC 24 eleven, then the options are more limited. So here I leave you a recommendation: Ricardo Carvalho Héroe.
In my opinion, it is the best DFC among ex-footballers quality/price ratio. Others will probably perform even better, but they are quite expensive and I assume that many users will not want to sign up for it. While the Portuguese does have a more reasonable cost (although it has recently risen quite a bit. I suppose due to the appearance of Say Maria RTTK. Maybe in a few days it will be even cheaper, I signed it when it was around 135,000 coins).
- Position: DFC.
- Work rate: Low in attack and high in defense.
- Height: 1’83.
- Skillful foot: Right.
- Body Type: Balanced.
- PlayStyle+: Anticipation
- “Normal” PlayStyle: Impenetrable, Sweeps, Acrobatic and Aerial Play.
- I recommend using it with Shadelike chemistry.
- Current cost: 173,000 coins in the general market.
Why is Ricardo Carvalho Héroes so good in EA Sports FC 24?
I prefer it over other cards that I have also tried such as Mascherano or Rafa Márquez FUT Heroes. And the key to Ricardo Carvalho is that he has an adequate rhythm (it is not too low) and above all that His defensive attributes are brutal.
The most notable thing in this DFC is its 93 intelligence, it is impressive for this era of EA Sports FC 24. That’s why it is almost always placed in the ideal place. Apart from that he also combines 88 interceptions, 91 steals and 89 tackles.
Once we apply Sombra as chemistry, Ricardo Carvalho FUT Heroes has 96 in interception, 97 in intelligence, 99 in thefts and 99 in tackles. These are incredible statistics, worthy of a TOTS. And although his speed is not remarkable, he has just the right pace to not ruin those defensive attributes (75 acceleration and 78 sprint).
The numbers mentioned are so good that their shortcomings take a back seat.. It’s not so annoying that he’s only 1’83 tall and barely reaches 78 in strength despite being a center back. Obviously, we would prefer it to be very powerful in melee. But you don’t need it to offer much security, it is quite reliable anyway due to its precision when stealing and its good placement.
PlayStyles also help. Of the defensive ones, he has Anticipation as +, Impenetrable and Sweeps. I would prefer Insurmountable to be the + (like Koundé), but it’s fine anyway.
And I do want to clarify a couple of things. The first is that, since his pace is acceptable but far from being top, The ideal is to accompany him with a faster central defender. For example, someone like Koundé himself, Militao or Tomori among others.
I must also say that It seems much more special to me in the next-gen versionfrom EA Sports FC 24. In old-gen it is decent but not as solid, it manages to adapt much better to new-gen gameplay because there the rhythm is less important and the defensive attributes (especially its 93 intelligence) shine even more.
So, is it worth it?
Just in the last few hours has suffered a significant price increase, I imagine that the arrival of Di María RTTK has had an influence and some users will want to use it to give it chemistry (because they are both from the Portuguese League). It may be around 140,000 coins in the general market again in a few days.
For the old-gen version of EA Sports FC 24, I would prefer to use faster centre-backs even if their defensive numbers are not good. To players like Koundé, Militao or Tomori among others. And compared to active footballers, Ricardo Carvalho is by no means a bargain because much cheaper cards (like Skriniar or Bremer) allow us to compete while spending very little.
But especially in next-gen, I think Portuguese is one of the best overall options within its price range. Even more so if in a few days it will be around 140,000 coins again. Accompanied by someone faster, it is quite interesting.
Apart from what I consider the best choice, quality/price ratio, within the Icons/Heroes. That is to say, if you need a former player because other cards don’t fit because of chemistry, I would clearly choose him. Because he doesn’t have great rhythm but he has what is necessary to make that impressive 93 intelligence look in game.
On the Telegram broadcast channel I almost always let you know when I post content about EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team. And here I leave the recent articles about Kubo POTM, Jonathan David RTTK and Gimenez POTM. Good luck!
