TikToker Jazzmyn Wollfe documented her experience dissolving her lip fillers after revealing that the fillers had been migrating from her upper lip for years.
Recently, many famous stars such as Kylie Jenner, Brielle Biermann, Farrah Abraham or Jeff Lewis, Blac Chyna… have all removed lip fillers. Blac Chyna even documented the steps to reverse every cosmetic procedure she’s ever had, including lip and facial fillers, breast implants, and buttock injections.
Lip filler removal has become a prominent trend on social media as more and more users document their own experiences of having the cosmetic procedure reversed.
Jazzmyn Wollfe shares on the TikTok platform the moment she dissolved her lip fillers. She said that she has not injected fillers in the last 2-3 years. Although fillers are known to gradually dissolve over time, they remained, moving on her lips and causing her discomfort.
The most popular lip filler is injectable hyaluronic acid (different from the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in the body that keeps the skin plump and hydrated). When injected into the lips, injectable hyaluronic acid helps lips increase plumpness and the effect lasts for 12 – 18 months. This process can be reversed by injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase to break down and dissolve the lip filler faster than the natural dissolution process.
The main reason the female TikToker decided to remove her lip fillers was because they had moved. This is a common side effect of this cosmetic method. Migration is when hyaluronic acid spreads away from the intended injection area, causing lip asymmetry or facial distortion. This can happen after receiving incorrect injections, too much filler being injected into one area of skin, improper post-treatment care, and many other reasons.
Jazzmyn Wollfe admits that fillers move to other areas. This caused her upper lip to be pushed outward, making her lips look puffy. After dissolving the filler, she continued to choose to flip her lips.
A lip flip is a popular non-surgical beauty procedure that makes lips appear fuller without adding volume like fillers. According to Cleveland Clinic, lip flip is performed by injecting botox into the corners of the mouth and lip edges to relax the muscles around the lips. This action causes them to flip upwards and appear larger than usual.
