US National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard is on a tour of India these days. During this, he discussed various topics including trade, defense and strategic cooperation between India and the US. Gabbard also participated in the annual Raisina dialogue of the think tank Observer Research Foundation held in Delhi, where he emphasized on strengthening the Indo-US economic relations.
Gabbard said on the tariff controversy that the top leadership of the two countries is negotiating on the issue. He said that economic possibilities in India are widespread and it was happy to know that Indian officials are watching it positively.
Tulsi Gabbard said that there are good relations between India and US leaders, which will further strengthen bilateral cooperation. He appreciated the economic policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he is working in the interest of Indian economy and citizens. Similarly, US President Donald Trump is also giving priority to the economic interests of his country.
Gabbard, referring to the Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita, said that the teachings present in them are relevant even today. He described it as a great example of leadership and strategic thinking, referring to Krishna and Arjun’s dialogues. During his visit, Gabbard also met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, where the two leaders discussed further strengthening the Indo-US defense and security partnership.
Gabbard said that India and the US are committed to further cooperation in various fields including intelligence partnership, trade, defense and education. Although the White House had expressed dissatisfaction over India liquor imposing more tariffs on American liquor, but the ongoing talks between the two countries are expected to resolve.
The tour is considered an important step towards taking bilateral relations between India and America to new heights.
