Code of conduct will come into effect with the election date
With the announcement of election dates, the Model Code of Conduct will come into force in Delhi. Last time i.e. in 2020, the dates for Delhi Assembly elections were announced on 6 January and voting was conducted for all 70 seats in a single phase on 8 February and the counting of votes was done on 11 February.

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be eyeing a hat-trick in the Delhi Assembly elections. The party came to power in Delhi by winning 67 seats in the 2015 Delhi legislative elections. In the 2020 assembly elections, the party returned by winning 62 seats. In the last two assemblies, BJP was limited to single digits. Congress, which had completely ended after ruling Delhi for the last 15 years.
More than 1.55 crore voters will vote
According to the voter list released by the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer on Monday, more than 1.55 crore voters are registered to vote in Delhi, which includes 2.08 lakh first-time voters in the age group of 18-19 years. Recently, BJP released the first list of 29 candidates for Delhi Assembly elections. The ruling party AAP has released its list of candidates for all 70 seats of Delhi. Congress party is also in the election field.
Who will compete on which seat?
AAP has fielded former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi seat. BJP has fielded former MP Pravesh Verma as its candidate against him.
